A GREAT IMITATION FROM MAC
So, I finally got the intention to post this up on this blog. So lucky of you(Yes, you, the one reading this.). You don't have to be tweaking stuff here and there but I had to! It's okay, I don't mind sharing stuff with you people(except for sometimes.).
Features that will be included in this customization:
1. Desktop wallpaper
2. Mac taskbar
3. Safari(Internet browser for Mac holders)
4. Mac cursor
5. Change the theme from Aero to Mac.
6. WindowBlinds(a 30-day trial software to change from Aero to Mac theme)
And here's how to transform your very boring looking windows(7 or xp or vista or etc...) to a Mac style:
Step 1:
You have icons on your desktop, don't you? Hide them to make the desktop cleaner and also Mac-ier by right clicking on the desktop. After that, there is a list when you right-click it. Click on "View". And then, click on "show desktop icons" and make sure there is no tick.
Step 2:
You have a taskbar at the bottom rite? We are going to move it to the top. To do this, right click on the taskbar and select "Properties". Then, make sure to have a tick at the "auto-hide the taskbar".And, there is this section which says "Taskbar location on screen:".Click the arrow and select "Top". And then, click on "Apply" and click on "OK".
Step 3:
You know, for Macs, there is this magnifying taskbar at the bottom rite? Well, of course! And you should know that. You are probably thinking how to get that. Well, no hesitations! To download ©RocketDock, click here. Once you're there, click on the "Downloads" button found at the top. Then, click on" Download RocketDock!" Once you have downloaded it, you must install it. After that, go to your taskbar and click on the "Start" button. Type "rocketdock" at the search box found at the bottom. Once the search is done, click on the first search which will say RocketDock and the Mac-style taskbar will appear at the top.To change the position, right-click on it and click on "Screen Position". Make sure to tick "Bottom"!
Step 4:
There, you'll see a Mac-like taskbar at the bottom. Now, for the theme. You'll need WindowBlinds, a software to change the Aero theme to Mac theme. To download, click here and click on "FREE DOWNLOAD". Once, downloaded, you'll have to install it. Hey, but wait, we won't be using it for now! But for later! If you wanna save time, you can use it now. But if you want to make it more to the pro-style of Mac on Windows, continue the steps.
For those who wanna save time:
After you have installed it, open it. Then, at the bottom, you'll see lots of Aero designs. Now, for a Mac-ish style, view to the right/left until you find a theme called "Sabertooth" and then, go to the top and click on "Apply Changes". There, you'll see a Mac-ish style theme.
For those who wanna have a more pro-looking one, please proceed:
(Step 4) So, you wanna more pro-looking one eh? Good, good, continue reading this section!
To download the more pro-looking theme, click here! Download the file and now open WindowBlinds. Make sure to right or left view it again until you found a theme called "Mac OS X Tiger". Click on it and apply changes. There you have! A mac theme! Try opening notepad. Seriously, the minimize, cross and maximize button is exactly the same like an original Mac theme!
Step 5:
Now, for the desktop wallpaper, I recommend you to use this. Save it as an image and to change your wallpaper, go to your control panel. Go to "Change desktop background". Once there, click on the "browse" button to select and search for the Mac wallpaper recommended. After that, click on the "save changes" button found at the bottom of the page. Ta-da! When you preview your desktop, you see a Mac. Haha.
Step 6:
Now, I know you're using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome or Opera. I think if you download Safari 5 , it'd be more Mac-ier. To download Safari 5, click here. You'll have to install it first. After installing it, you can open it as usual. Drag and Drop it into the Mac taskbar.
Step 7:
Now, we are only left with the Mac cursor. Well, I found a really good source to download from. Just click here and open it. Once there, hit the download button. Now, How to use this cursor? First go to your MAIN TASKBAR and not the Mac-style taskbar. Go to the start button and on the search box, type "mouse" amd press the enter button found on your keyboard. Once the mouse properties pops out, click on the tab called "Pointers". At there, search under the scheme for "Mac OS X" and then you can preview it and just click on apply and ok. There you have it, a Mac mouse cursor.
AND WE'RE DONE!
